Training Volume & Muscle Involvement
Hello! Today I’ll explain how Treeceps calculates your training volume as accurately as possible – and why this calculation is based on muscle involvement.
Every exercise in Treeceps has an individually set involvement for each muscle group. These values determine how much a muscle works in an exercise.
For example, in push-ups, the chest is primarily involved, while triceps and shoulders work secondarily and other muscles only a little.
These exact percentages allow training volume to be precisely split among the muscles worked after a workout.
For each set of an exercise, the number of hearts you earned is calculated, then divided among the target muscles according to their involvement.
So each muscle group collects exactly the amount of training volume that matches its real workload – whether you do compound or isolation exercises.
These heart points are used in Treeceps to show your progress, but also to calculate your current muscle fatigue.
For each muscle group, Treeceps checks your last seven training days to see how much load is left there. The more hearts you collected recently, the higher the fatigue.
To determine this fatigue, Treeceps considers how long ago a workout was and how many hearts you earned. The closer to today, the stronger it affects your fatigue score.
This results in a value from 0 to 1 showing how recovered or fatigued a muscle group is. 0 means rested, 1 means fully fatigued.
The idea: Treeceps doesn’t just measure your volume, but also detects when a muscle is recovered enough to train again effectively.
