Chapter 6
Training Frequency
Hello! The last few tips we spoke about the fundamentals of your strength training. Today, I’d like to give you my take on how often per week you should train a specific muscle group.
After you’ve trained a muscle group, your body needs some time to recover. How much time depends on the training volume you’ve accumulated for the specific muscle group.
For example, if you’ve done one set of a biceps exercise, you should be able to train your biceps again on the next day without any issues. However, if you’ve done 20 sets, you would have to wait for a few days.
So, should you train a muscle group once per week with extreme intensity or just a little bit every day?
The current scientific evidence suggests that, with equal training volume, it’s more effective to train every muscle group twice or more times per week than just once per week.
That’s why, if you have more than one day per week available for working out, the artificial intelligence of Treeceps will plan your workouts so that every muscle group is trained 2-3 times per week.
Training a muscle group 2-3 times per week has the additional benefit that you’re practicing the required movement patterns for training each muscle group more often and thus will be able to train more effectively!
