Chapter 25
Gains Hearts and Training Volume
Hey! I hope you're feeling fantastic today! Having already answered the question "What is training volume?", today I'm going to explain Treeceps' approach to measuring training volume.
For each exercise in Treeceps, information is available on what percentage of each muscle group is used.
For example, for the push-up exercise, the chest muscles are primarily used, but secondarily the triceps and shoulder muscles are also used, and to a lesser extent the abdominal muscles, back and legs.
Treeceps sets a percentage of participation for each muscle group, e.g. chest muscles are 100% involved, triceps 50%, abdominals, back and legs 10% and so on.
Thus, it is possible to calculate the training volume for each muscle group after a workout.
In addition, a total number of Gains Hearts can be calculated. Here, the information regarding the participation of the different muscle groups even takes into account that different exercises generate different amounts of training volume.
For example, compound exercises such as pull-ups use many different muscle groups and thus also generate a higher total training volume for the same number of sets compared to, for example, biceps curls.
Gains Hearts make the training volume of different workouts with different exercises and repetition ranges comparable.
You can see how much individual muscle groups are stressed with training volume. Visualized in the garden by the rotating anatomy model.
Last but not least, this training volume, the number of earned gains hearts, is used in Treeceps to increase your level.
In Treeceps, your progress in the real world should generate progress in the virtual world. Earning Gains Hearts is exactly in line with this idea!
