Chapter 5
Exercise Selection
Greetings! You already know how training with Treeceps is split into exercise sets, how to find the right weight for an exercise, and how many repetitions you should do for your sets.
Today we will talk about the exercises you perform. Treeceps is designed so that you can work out only with your body weight as well as in a fully equipped gym.
No matter what equipment you have available, you can create a custom plan or let Treeceps create a balanced plan for you. That means there is no excuse not to train! How does this work?
Well, each exercise can be assigned to a certain movement pattern. For example, push ups belong to the horizontal push pattern - you push "the floor in front away from you". Rowing belongs to horizontal pull - you pull something "towards you".
A balanced training plan is characterized by a similar number of exercise sets for each opposite movement pattern, such as horizontal pull and horizontal push.
This way your muscles develop evenly, which is important for a good posture, for example. In Treeceps there are exercises for each of these patterns that you can do without equipment or with household items.
You can purchase additional equipment, such as a pull up bar, or visit a gym to do your exercises more comfortably or gain access to completely new exercises.
With every exercise it is important that you can do it painlessly and with good form. If you train at the gym, ask someone to compare your performance to the animation in Treeceps.
Alternatively, you can simply record a video of yourself with your device and later compare your performance to the animation in Treeceps.
Every body is different and has its own story. If you don't feel comfortable doing an exercise, you can replace it with a similar exercise (e.g. dumbbells instead of barbell).
Now that we have covered the most important aspects about how to perform your workouts, next time we will take look at what you should consider when deciding how often you work out per week.
