Chapter 50
Recognizing & Overcoming Plateaus
Hey! To wrap things up, let’s talk about plateaus and how to work through them with confidence.
A plateau is normal. Progress isn’t linear. What matters is how you respond.
First check the basics: sleep, stress, nutrition, step count. The sticking point is often there, not in your training plan.
Adjust progression: smaller increases, different rep range, or an extra set if technique is solid.
Variation instead of overhaul: small technique or grip tweaks can create new stimulus without breaking your system.
Take a deload if fatigue is high. Progress will come easier again afterwards.
Use RPE: Work a few weeks at RPE 7–8 before pushing harder again. Quality over ego.
Track honestly. Your data shows trends. Treeceps helps you spot patterns and plan smarter.
Don’t expect miracles overnight. Consistency beats perfection – and wins over any plateau in the long run.
Summary: Plateaus are pause buttons, not stop signs. Adjust, recover, progress – and keep going.
